the long forgotten sage vol2 - 吟游诗人的记忆

本次选曲的主题是吟游诗人的记忆.选的歌多是现代乐队改编翻唱的欧洲传统民谣,叙述了一个个古老的传说.那些动人的旋律和震撼人心的故事流传久远,成为当地人民和这个世界难以磨灭的美丽回忆.好几百年过去了,这些歌仍在我们当中传唱,那么再过500年1000年,当现在听歌的孩子们都已成为记忆的尘埃,这些故事会不会真的和时间一样,进入永恒呢?

01 joan baez - geordie
《Geordie》是一首很老的英国民谣，歌曲讲述了一个非常感人的故事。丈夫Geordie为了一家人的生计，偷了皇家饲养的鹿到市场上贩卖，而后被皇家士兵抓了起来，并将处以死刑。妻子为了丈夫能够活下来，向法官求情。这首歌就是妻子在讲述自己的故事，希望法官能够原谅自己的丈夫。
主人公George Gordon (1563-1636)的故事见于17世纪早期的《苏格兰手卷》（《Straloch Manuscripts》）中一个名叫《God be wi'thee, Geordie》的故事。第二个出处见于Buchan在1828年编写的《古民谣和歌曲》（《Ancient Ballads and Songs》）一个叫做《Gight's Lady》的故事中。在《苏格兰手卷》的故事中，Geordie拥有6个孩子（不是歌中的三个），他被指控偷了国王的6匹白色的马并且在Bohenny卖掉而被判绞刑。而根据Buchan的记载，Geordie有另一版本的故事，在史上确有其人，全名是George Gordon of Gight（1512-1562），是詹姆斯四世一个私生女的儿子，并且拥有爵士封号。他由于“对领主Bignet之妻过于亲密”的罪名而被囚禁。他的妻子Lady Ann赶到了爱丁堡请求法官宽恕她的丈夫，结果是，法官同意释放Geordie，不过前提是要他亲手杀掉自己的妻子，最终Lady Ann为了挽救丈夫的性命而选择死亡。

我选用的是美国民谣歌手Joan Baez的演唱。她是美国60年代以来最最优秀的民谣歌手，有些评论甚至称她的成就高于bob dylan这样的大师，而她与dylan之间也确实产生过火花，有相互唱给对方的歌。Baez是那种只需要一把吉它加歌声就能让人完全沉醉的歌手，她的声音被形容为chilling crystal-like，纯净得象冰，轻轻割破现实的晨雾，而孤独、迷茫还有淡淡的哀伤便像血液一样从伤口流出。

02 airim - follow me up to carlow
"Follow Me Up to Carlow"是一首流传已久的优美爱尔兰民谣，一首庆祝胜利的歌谣。1580年，第二次德斯蒙德叛乱中（Second Desmond Rebellion），Feach MacHugh O'Byrne率领的军队在格伦马鲁尔的战斗中（the Battle of Glenmalure），大胜3000人组成的英格兰军队。而他的起义军之后也一直在战斗，直到1597年开始的Tyrone 的叛乱，亦称“九年战争”。
airim来自俄罗斯，网络上鲜有资料流传，我也仅仅拥有他们的两张唱片。乐队古朴的民谣曲风和高亢动人的男声让人沉醉不已，在这首歌的开头，甚至能听到荆歌铁马的厮杀之声，十分有现场感。

这次的歌有些是大名鼎鼎的歌曲，所以还找来了歌词，大家可以跟着唱，成为一个吟游诗人：

03 Loreena McKennitt - The Mummers Dance
查资料说这首歌描述了这样一个古老的爱尔兰传说:“三姐妹走在小河边，妒忌的大姐突然把小妹妹推落到河里，因为小妹妹得到了王子的真爱。小妹妹一路求救，一路漂流……淹死了的小妹妹，变成了一只美丽的金色天鹅，被好心人捞起。刚好一个乐器工匠从那路过，他用天鹅的羽毛和骨头做成了一把美丽的竖琴，弹奏出动人的乐曲。竖琴最终被工匠送到了王宫，恶毒的大姐早已如愿以偿的成为王子的新娘，而竖琴也默默的陪伴着王子……”
Loreena McKennitt在歌曲中大量运用了风笛、手鼓、小提琴、竖琴等乐器，为歌曲增色不少，同时又加入不少合成器的效果，增加了些许现代元素，使歌曲别有一番古今混合的魅力。

04 cruachan - ride_on
《ride on》是一首老歌了，动人的爱尔兰民谣。这次选用的是folk-metal乐队cruachan的作品，把小情歌里的英雄主义气质表现的淋漓尽致，同时，风笛、小提琴、钢琴的运用又体现了民谣最最朴素的一面，可以说是金属与民谣的完美结合，连歌都是由男女歌手一同演唱，非常用心。

05 neutral - axe and flower_two faces
每一个古老的大地必有其自己的传说，而俄罗斯民谣的传奇也许要在NEUTRAL身上延续了。与airim一样，NEUTRAL也非常低调，出版的专辑都是限量百张之内的现场录音，但由于其十分优秀的音乐，迅速得到广大新民谣乐迷的认同，影响也越来越广。
战斧与鲜花选自他们10年来唯一的一张录音室大碟《OF SHADOW AND ITS DREAM》，尽管只有6首歌，但其新古典式的典雅气质与新民谣的忧郁风格足以感染每一个乐迷。axe and flower的特色在于充满象征意味的低沉男声念白---是对死亡的缅怀、对神的祈祷还是屠杀的忏悔---和惊为天人的小提琴solo，两把琴在歌曲中段相互缠绕着，时而高亢、时而凄婉，在空旷的幻境肆意游荡,直到终曲，而人心却早已被这音乐引入永恒。

07 freiburger_spielleyt - la_septime_estampie_real
一首清爽的民谣小品。别小看了这首纯净简单的歌曲，freiburger_spielleyt可是科班出生的音乐家团体，spielleyt音乐学院的学生乐队，出道至今已经快20年了。他们善于自制中世纪乐器，并翻唱德国、法国、西班牙等地发现的中世纪古谱，而这首歌选自乐队最近的一张唱片
《Nu wol 鹒, ritter, ez ist tac》，歌曲呢，则来自13世纪一位吟游诗人的作品 "von Wissenlo"。
